How to Find the Best LCD Computer Monitors Without an Electrical Engineering Degree Or a Coupon

Want to find the best LCD computer monitors? You are definitely not the only one. People everywhere are looking for the best monitors at the best price. And that's why I wrote this article about what to look for in a new LCD Monitor and where to find the best bargains.
When you begin to imagine yourself in front of a state of the art LCD display monitor, you can quickly feel that sense of excitement and accomplishment that comes from using the latest LCD technology. Doesn't it make you feel better and more energized? LCD monitors are fun to use, much more energy efficient and easy on the eyes, especially when compared to the old CRT technology.
But that feeling of accomplishment can quickly turn to anxiety when after the purchase when you begin to look more closely and find yourself staring dumbfounded by the problems and imperfections. And although nothing is perfect, many of the best LCD computer monitors appear at first glance to come pretty darn close to perfection. But appearances aren't everything.
Here are three main points that come up again and again.
Angle of View - Viewing an LCD monitor from an angle as opposed to straight-on, has been a problem in the past. A limited angular viewing range was once a common complaint. But it doesn't have to be an issue anymore. Here's why. LCD and CRT displays are either designed as "rear projector" or "direct view". Every rear projector display will have a diminished picture quality if you view it from the periphery or anywhere other than straight ahead. But direct view displays don't have this problem.
  • Solution: All flat panel monitors will be direct view displays and so you can avoid any problem with diminished quality from angular viewing by simply focusing on a flat panel monitor.
Beware of Dead Pixels - Pixels (short for picture element) are the millions of small dots that make up the images on your monitor. And dead pixels are simply pixels that don't work. Unfortunately dead pixels are not repairable so they stay there forever. They can be pretty easily identified, especially in programs with a white background. You can spot them in exactly the same place every time.
Dead pixels were once a big problem facing LCD manufacturers, but technologies have improved and the dead pixel issue is also pretty much dead. In fact, most of the top LCD manufacturers have no problem replacing a monitor with dead pixels as long as you point it out to them within your standard warranty period.
  • Solution: So when shopping for the best LCD computer monitors take a glance at the dead pixel policy found in the product warranty. Also check for dead pixels immediately after you install your LCD monitor.
Display Resolution - If you stay with a high-definition monitor the display resolution should be a non event. It's really difficult (if not impossible) for most of us to tell the difference between the picture quality of a 1024 X 768 display or "native" resolution and a 1920 X 1080.
  • Solution: Stick with HD technology and stick with the standard display resolution for the size monitor you are considering and you should be just fine.
So where can you go to find the best LCD computer monitors?
There are many stores that sell LCD monitors online. Some offer discounts and coupons, while others simply offer low prices. A few will offer free shipping. So when you want to find these stores among all of sites that sell LCD Monitors your best bet is to find someone who knows all about finding low prices and savings and see what they've discovered.
