Design: Featuring a shiny black chassis the HP Pavilion DV6-1230US retains the classy corporate look of the HP Pavilion line but also adds some artsy imprints on the cover and keyboard bezel. While the top cover offers the usual smudge magnet glossy black surface the laptop looks great despite the huge 12-cell battery sticking out the back. At 7.1 pounds with a 15.6-inch display, the laptop is quite heavy but should serve well as a desktop replacement unit.
